Co-Founder (Harbor Technician Shortage, Pre-seed Startup) – Beam

Opportunity Overview:
You will be involved in validating your startup idea at Beam, a platform that connects idle shipboard technicians with manufacturing companies for freelance job opportunities.
This is a unique opportunity to build a business from the ground up, as a startup, poised to revolutionize the manufacturing industry by tackling the critical shortage of service technicians. You will mobilise and create an ecosystem aroundidle technicians on ships docked in harbors worldwide. Leveraging the global expertise, you will seek to offer a comprehensive range of mechanical and electrical engineering services tailored to the needs of manufacturing companies. Traditionally, manufacturing companies struggle to find qualified technicians due to scarcity and high demand. Meanwhile, countless technicians aboard ships in harbors remain underutilized during their downtime. Your startupwill serve as the conduit, connecting these two disparate groups for mutual benefit.
We will want to speak with anyone who meets the following criteria:
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in the manufacturing or maritime sectors is highly advantageous, with a strong understanding of the operational and logistical challenges involved.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: You should have a proven track record of initiating and scaling ventures with high growth potential.
- Committed to Launching a Startup: You have a burning desire to start and grow a successful business in the logistics and aviation industry.
- Analytical and Inquisitive: You possess a deep understanding of complex issues, backed by curiosity and initiative.
- Exceptional Communicator: You can simplify and convey complex information effectively, maintaining a relatable and approachable style.
- Startup Experience: You have professional experience in technology or logistics, with at least two years in a startup environment.
- Resilient and Resourceful: You thrive in ambiguity, excel at finding solutions, and persist through challenges.
- Ethical and Values-Driven: Your decision-making is guided by a strong ethical compass.
- Innovative Problem-Solving: Ability to think outside the box and develop creative solutions that disrupt traditional markets.

- Commitment: Ready to commit full-time to co-found and grow your business. Must be prepared to dive deep into market research, product development, and customer acquisition.
